In the Greater Owensboro Realtor Association October Newsletter, local Realtors and Affiliates read that
The MLS has requested that SEI change “brick veneer” to “brick”. Once the word veneer is deleted the change is “irreversible”, and every occurrence (listing) that included the term” brick veneer”, will now read “brick”.
Although I don’t know their reasons for doing so, it does present a huge problem for appraisers who must consider components such as quality of construction. Even though the terms can be confusing, they are not synonymous, and should not be used interchangeably. Not sure about the difference between brick and brick veneer?
