What does SRA Designation Mean?

Well, today it meant ‘Snowbound Real Estate Appraiser’, because that’s what the weather is like around here.

But seriously, more information on the SRA Designation can be found HERE, the Appraisal Institute’s website. On their site, they explain the designation and it’s importance as follows:

The SRA membership designation is held by appraisers who are experienced in the analysis and valuation of residential real property.

The MAI, SRA and SRPA designations have long been recognized by courts of law, government agencies, financial institutions, and investors as marks of excellence in the field of real estate valuation and analysis.

Obtaining a designation shows your clients you have both education and experience that significantly surpasses the threshold needed for state certification, demonstrating professional knowledge, understanding, and ability.

Designated members make a commitment to pursue advanced education, maintain defined ethical requirements and promote higher expectations for the appraisal profession as a whole.

But today…today it just means I’m a “Snowbound RealEstate Appraiser”.
