Riverfront Appraisals Nominated as 2018 Business of the Year

What better way to kick off our 10th year in business than with a nomination as Business of the Year!  We were beyond thrilled to be among the finalists for the Owensboro Chamber of Commerce 2018 Business of the Year (1-10 Employees) award!

In the success story of Riverfront Appraisals, I am not the hero.  Although we have a team full of rock stars, our team is not the hero.  The hero of our story – one 10 years in the making – is our community.  The thousands of homeowners, loan officers, attorneys and Realtors who have trusted Riverfront Appraisals with their appraisal needs — you are the true hero!  So thank you for this amazing honor!

I told someone recently that humanly speaking, we shouldn’t even still be in business.  It’s been said that 2/3 of all businesses fail within the first 10 years.  And yet – here we still are!  We started our company 10 years ago, in the worst time to start a real estate business (does anyone remember 2008?!).  However, by the grace and kindness of God, we have grown each year, and continue to grow both in number and influence, and in how we are able to give back to the communities that have given us so much.

God has been faithful to surround us with a wonderful, hard-working team that I would like to recognize:  Eliza Hyland, our Researcher; Kassandra Chappel, or Client Care Manager; Jessica Roberts, our Office Manager; and Ben Cecil & Gerren Dugger, our Associate Appraisers.

Riverfront Appraisals wouldn’t be half the company it is now without the constant wise counsel of my wife, Tiffany – without whom I would be lost and would make many terrible decisions!

My six girls are the joy of my life.  They are the reason I go to work every day.  They see the good and the ugly, and somehow still love me.  Aislinn, Lauchlinn, Rhiannon, Ellareese, Laurel and Nola – we share this honor with you because you push me to be the best dad, husband, appraiser, and business owner I can be – even though you may not realize it.

Ten years in business.  A nomination as the Business of the Year.  I can’t wait to see how God will use us over the next 10 years!  Although we didn’t win the award, we are honored to be in such great company with the other nominees and winner.  Thank you again to the Owensboro community for trusting us, honoring us, and being our hero.
